According to the 2026 Global and China Grey Fabric Industry In-Depth Analysis Report by Industry World, the global grey fabric industry is showing moderate recovery with structural divergence in 2026, with global output expected at approximately 128 billion square metres, up 2.8% from 2025.
On the supply side, China contributes about 54% of global grey fabric output, while India, Vietnam, Bangladesh and other emerging economies account for roughly 28% combined. With its complete supply chain, advanced weaving equipment and reliable delivery capabilities, China remains the core hub of global grey fabric supply.
On the demand side, restocking demand in European and American markets is recovering in phases, while the expansion of textile capacity in emerging markets creates supporting demand for grey fabrics and face materials. For Chinese grey fabric and dyed fabric exporters, consolidating traditional markets while expanding into emerging ones, and raising the share of high-count, high-density and functional products, will be key to capturing this round of recovery.
